I started reading a new book called Awakening: How God’s Next Great Move Inspires & Influences Our Lives Today.
The book is by my friend, Matt Brown.
In the first chapter, Matt writes about these amazing facts about Christianity that very few people know about. For example:
- What is the largest church in the world and how many people does it seat?
- What is the largest church numerically and how many members does it have?
- Who has preached the gospel to more people than anyone else in the world?
I thought I knew the answers to these questions but I was wrong about each one of them.
You might think that the answers to these questions are just fun facts about Christianity, and that’s all. But you’d be wrong.

What Makes Awakening Such an Inspiring Book?
I’ve been enjoying this book and I believe it’s a must-read for every Christian. Here’s why.
Whenever you read Christian blog posts, articles, or even watch Christian videos, many of them have one thing in common. They put down Christians and the church.
It always seems like Christianity is “failing” in some area, and that Christians are “falling short” in another.
We’re criticized by the world, and even Christians criticize each other.
It’s just so discouraging sometimes to see all of this media that talks about how Christianity and Christians are failing in one way or another.
The problem with this is that it’s easy to get blindsided. It’s easy for you to think that God is no longer on the move.
You can easily fall into the trap of thinking that God no longer is working in the world.
Just take a look at the world around you and you’ll see all the evil and suffering that happens every day. It’s hard to see God in the middle of all the suffering.
However, God is on the move. He’s actually never stopped moving. It’s just that very few people are reporting His moves.
Become Awakened
Matt realized that many Christians had no idea how God is moving around the world. That’s why he wanted to write this book so that it will encourage and inspire you.
After just reading the first two chapters, I found myself encouraged to do more things for God.
