If you’re not a Christian, you might think that Christianity is just like any other religion.  You might think that religion is a bunch of rules created by people to keep society under control.

“All religions are alike,” you might say.

But if you ask the Christian, we would tell you differently.  We would tell you the story of our old life.

We had a hole in our heart that made us feel like our life was meaningless and had no purpose.

We tried to fill that hole with money, sex, drugs, careers, relationships, but none of those things gave us the fulfillment we were looking for.

We tried to change our habits but no matter how hard we tried, we always fell short of perfection. We were stuck in bondage repeating the same wrongs over and over again.

When faced with a choice to tell the truth or to lie, we often lied and took the easy way out.

We hated people who made us extremely angry or that rubbed us the wrong away.

Moreover, we were angry with the world!

We tried to make material things and relationships the #1 priority in our life to get rid of that sinking feeling only to be disappointed time and time again.

Then something happened…

We met Someone special that changed EVERYTHING.

We met Jesus and our lives were forever changed in the best possible way.

We were able to change our habits for the better.  Before we were doing it in our own strength and we were failing.  Now we were succeeding through Jesus’ strength.

We had love in our hearts for others like we’ve never experienced before. We told the truth and had a desire to please God.

We were free from sin (wrong things that we all do) and were able to have victory in our lives.

Sound too good to be true, just plain weird, or feelin’ kind of skeptical?  Or maybe you feel that Christianity is a crutch to lean on for weak people? I know, I felt that way too before.

If you aren’t a Christian, what’s your biggest objection to becoming one?  Don’t be afraid to share your objection, I won’t judge you. But figuring out why you are here and where you are going is life’s biggest question that DEMANDS an answer.

If you are a Christian, please give a brief testimony of what Jesus has done in your life.  If you love Jesus and He has changed your life, then don’t be ashamed to share with the world why they should surrender their life to Him.

  1. I didn’t always believe in God. I used to when I was a kid but then some things happened to me in high school that were really tough and I blamed God for my bad circumstances.

I ended up leaving Christianity, and becoming an atheist for a while, a new a thinker for a while, as well as investigating other faiths. Finally, I made a U-turn and came back to Jesus. Or should I say, He was faithful to bring me back 🙂

  3. The Gospel Message
God is Holy: separated from sin and evil devoted to bring Himself honor and glory.
    Isaiah 6:3
Holy, holy, holy, is The Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory.
    Isaiah 59:2
But your iniquities have separated you from your Go; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.
    Man Is Sinful:
    Romans 5:12
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned-
    Jeremiah 17:9
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked, who can know it?
    Psalm 58:3
The wicked are estranged from the womb; they go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.
    Ecclesiastes 7:20
For there is not a just man on earth who does good and does not sin.
    Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
    Psalm 51:5
Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.
    Isaiah 64:6
But we are all like an unclean thing, and all out righteousness are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.
    Sin Must Be Paid For:
    Nahum 1:2-3
God is jealous and The Lord avenges; The Lord avenges and is furious. The Lord will take vengeance on His adversaries, and He reserves wrath for His enemies; The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked.
    Deuteronomy 7:9-10
Therefore know that The Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and mercy for a thousand generations with those who love Him and keep His commandments, and He repays those who hate Him to their face, to destroy them. He will not be slack with him who hates Him; He will repay him to his face.
The Solution: Christ On The Cross
    Romans 3:23-26
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forebearacne God had passed over the sins that wre previously committed, to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier if the one who has faith in Jesus.
    Hebrews 10:8-9
Previously saying, “sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings and offerings do sin You du not desire, nor had pleasure in them” ( which are offered according to the law), then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second. By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
    John 10:15-17
As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice, and there will be one flock and one shepherd. Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.
How Do We Access The Solution?
    Acts 2:37-38
Now when they heard this, they were cut to the hear, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what should we do?” Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
    Romans 10:8-10
But what does it say? “The Word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth The Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved for with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
    Psalm 51:3-4
For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. Against You, and You only have I sinned, And done this evil in your sight- that You may be found just when you speak, and blameless when You judge.
How Do We Know We Have Accessed The Solution?
    Ephesians 2:1-3
And you He made alive, who dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we conducted ourselves in the lust of our flesh, fulling the desires of the flesh and mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
    Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is a gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
    1 John 2:3
Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
    Matthew 7:21-23
“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Yoyr name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘ I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
    2 Corinthians 5:17

    I John 5: 18-20
We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, for God’s Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them. We know that we are children of God and that the world around us is under the control of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come, and he has given us understanding so that we can know the true God. And now we live in fellowship with the true God because we live in fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ. He is the only true God, and he is eternal life. (1 John 5:18-20 NLT)
