As you start praying on wether God wants you to take a online leap of faith, you might want to take into consideration the top three most compelling reasons to why you should become a online evangelist. Here is why I have chosen to do it and I think that you’ll be able to relate.
Reason #1 – To please the God who saved me
God loved you and I so much that He gave Jesus to die for our sins. Where would you be right now if you weren’t a Christian? Some of my friends bring this up in their conversations when talking about how God has dramatically changed their lives after their conversion. Many of them say, “If it wasn’t for the Lord, I would still be strung out on drugs,” or “I would still be drinking and partying,” or “I’m sure someone would have found me dead in the street.”
You might have a similar testimony or your testimony might not be so dramatic but one thing is for sure; your life is way better now that you are walking with Jesus and that is the understatement of the century!
So wouldn’t you want to do something for God that really made Him happy? And is there anything that makes God happier than when sinners repent and give their hearts to Him?[sws_blockquote align=”” alignment=”” cite=”- 2 Peter 3:9″ quotestyles=”style01″]The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.[/sws_blockquote]
Reason #2 – To love my neighbor as I love myself
When Jesus was asked about what the greatest commandment out of all the Ten Commandments was, He answered:[sws_blockquote align=”” alignment=”” cite=”- Matthew22:37-40″ quotestyles=”style01″]You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.[/sws_blockquote]
If you noticed, the first two reasons to become a online evangelist are actually taken from this verse. How does being an evangelist help you to love your neighbor as yourself?
Well, let me ask you this: you love your own self to the point where you wanted to have salvation (free gift from God) so that you can have a relationship with Jesus Christ and not go to hell, right? “Yes!” Then we should also want the very same thing for our neighbors too!
Putting our whole online evangelism subject aside, if you don’t have a passion to see the lost get saved, then I strongly encourage you as your brother to ask God through prayer to examine your heart and walk with Him. Walking closely with the Lord will always result in our yearning for others to also have a walk Him. Our heart should break for what breaks the heart of our God, and what breaks His heart the most is seeing sheep scattered without a Shepherd.
So as you can see, evanglizing to the lost is a wonderful way for you to love your neighbor as yourself.
Reason #3 – To be rewarded in heaven
If we take a look at 1 Corinthians chapter 3, we can get a good understanding of how God is going to reward those servants who are diligiently working for Him.[sws_blockquote align=”” alignment=”” cite=”- 1 Corinthians 3:11-15″ quotestyles=”style01″]For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.[/sws_blockquote]
So from this passage we see that there are a couple of requirements for us to be able to receive rewards from the Lord in heaven and they are:[sws_ul_ui indent=”0″ ui_theme=”ui-smoothness”][sws_ul_ui_item item_indent=”12″ position=”outside” icon=”ui-icon-check”]The foundation of which our work is built on must be built on Jesus Christ [/sws_ul_ui_item] [sws_ul_ui_item item_indent=”12″ position=”outside” icon=”ui-icon-check”]The work that we do for Him must be made of gold, silver, and precious stones [/sws_ul_ui_item] [/sws_ul_ui]
So when we examine the prospect of becoming a online evangelist, we can check if this endeavor meets these two requirements. Is this work built on Jesus Christ? It sure is! Is the work that we are doing for Him going to be made of gold silver and precious stones and will therefore endure the testing fire of the Lord? You bet!
