How to Share Your Faith in Less Than 30 Seconds

Joanne is excited about the new year.  2014 was such a busy year for her, and 2015 doesn’t look like it will be any different.

Joanne’s two boys, Robert and David (ages one and four) demand so much of her time.

Every day, Joanne finds herself following the same routine.  She wakes up at 6 AM, takes a shower, and then gets ready for her day.

Joanne then goes to David’s room, and gets him dressed for school. She goes downstairs to the kitchen and greets her husband, Jacob, with a kiss and a, “Good morning, honey.”

Joanne then turns on the coffee pot, puts toast in the toaster, and then gets orange juice out of the fridge.

She hurries through her morning, making David breakfast, saying goodbye to her husband, and then waking up her one-year-old Robert.  She’ll be taking Robert with her as she drops off David to school.

Mom with a busy schedule

Busy schedules sometimes take our focus away

The rest of Joanne’s day will continue to be hectic.

She’ll be doing work around the house, running errands, and preparing for the climax of the day, which is the family dinner at 6 pm.

As the day passes by, Joanne has so much on her plate.

The end of her day finally comes to an end at 9:45 pm.  Joanne is exhausted, and she’s looking forward to getting into bed.

She goes to her husband, kisses him good night, and then turns off the lights.

Joanne closes her eyes and hurriedly tries to go to sleep. But she can’t.

Joanne’s mind is racing as she reviews her day’s events.  Surely she had been productive, after all, she got so many things done.

But somehow something felt missing.  There was something that she said she was going to do but she knew she hadn’t gotten around to it.

All of a sudden, she remembered what that thing was.

Joanne went to church one Sunday morning last year and to her surprise, there was a visiting pastor who was preaching that morning.

He preached a moving message about how Christians are missing out by not fulfilling the Great Commission.

Joanne remembered the Pastor saying that time is running out, people are hurting, and they need to hear the gospel now rather than later.

She was so moved by the message, that she decided she was going to do something about it.  When she got home after church that morning, Joanne opened up her planner, and wrote a note to herself.

“Share the gospel more often,” she wrote in her planner.  She wasn’t really sure how she was going to do it, but she knew that she wanted to.

As Joanne continued to think about her goal of sharing the gospel in 2015, she began to pray silently in her spirit.

“Lord, please help me to share the gospel. I’m so busy with the kids, the house, and everything that I have to do. But I don’t want that to keep me away from reaching the lost that you so deeply care about.”

Are You Super Busy?

Whether you’re a homemaker, a working professional, or you’re in ministry, you’re probably familiar with the busy life, just like Joanne.

Even if you don’t have family responsibilities like Joanne does, you can replace them with other responsibilities from work, friends, or other areas of your life.

The problem with the busy life is that you sometimes miss out on making important things a priority.

Where does sharing the gospel fit in with your priorities this year? Is it something that you think about? Is it something that you want to do, but you haven’t got around to doing it?

Let 2015 be the year that you finally make sharing the gospel a priority by following the easy steps in this blog post.

be careful of becoming so busy

Introducing a Phenomenal Resource for Sharing Your Faith

I’d like to introduce you to EveryStudent.com.

Marilyn Adamson

Marilyn is the creator of EveryStudent.com, a great evangelistic website.

EveryStudent.com is an evangelistic website that is the brainchild of Marilyn Adamson.

As a former atheist, Marilyn writes articles on EveryStudent that deal with subjects like sexuality, the search for God, and discovering life’s purpose.

All of her articles end with an evangelistic outreach where people can either accept Christ or ask a question.

EveryStudent is a part of the Ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru).

Don’t let the name of the website fool you into thinking that the website is only for students however.  No, not at all.

The website is for adults of all ages who are searching for answers to life’s most meaningful questions.

I came across EveryStudent a while ago and I was amazed at the wealth of resources that are on the site.  All of the articles are very well written, and some of them tackle the most difficult of subjects.

I contacted Marilyn last month, and I invited her to a conference call over Skype.

Marilyn and I ended up talking over the Christmas break.  She’s a great sister in the Lord who has a grave concern for the lost.

Also, Marilyn shared with me the staggering statistics behind EveryStudent.

Every year, more than 11 million people visit her website.  And by the grace of God, and all glory be to Him, more than 600 people make professions of faith every day through the website.

Now that’s amazing!

5 Reasons Why You Should Share Articles from Everystudent.com on Social Media

1.  You’ll Find Articles on Many Different Topics

One of my favorite things about EveryStudent is that they tackle so many different topics.

Some of the articles that you’ll find on EveryStudent are things that a lot of people wonder about. Here’s just a few:

  • God’s existence
  • Sexuality
  • Blind faith
  • Why is life so hard?
  • The meaning of life
  • And much more

2.  It’s Backed by a Respected Ministry

Everystudent is created by Cru (Campus Crusade for Christ), an organization that has been in ministry since 1951.  It’s a well-respected ministry that shares the truth about God.

Cru is a ministry that’s passionate and enthusiastic about fulfilling the great commission.  They’re doing a good work for the Lord.

3.  EveryStudent Has a Team Ready to Interact With People

Every article on EveryStudent has an evangelistic ending like the one shown in this image.

As you can see, readers have 3 choices to make at the end of each article.

  • They can ask Jesus into their life
  • They can get more information about what it means to have Jesus as their personal savior
  • Or, they can ask a question

Someone from the Cru team will follow up with every question in an effort to lead a person to Christ.

4.  It Takes Less Than 30 Seconds

The download that I’m giving away has 57 status updates for social media.  That means that there’s only three steps in order for you to share one of these evangelistic articles:

  1. Pray
  2. Copy
  3. Paste

5.  You’ll Be Fulfilling the Great Commision

You’re busy and you’ve got many things to do.  But at the same time, you want to be obedient to God.

By using the download and sharing the status updates, you’ll be fulfilling the great commission.

This is one great way to share your faith online.

An added benefit is that there isn’t any follow-up that you have to do after you share on social media.  All of the follow-up is taken care of by the EveryStudent team on their website.

I’ve Been Sharing EveryStudent on Twitter

I’ve been sharing on Twitter an article a day for the past month, and people’s reactions have been phenomenal.

Here’s one reaction that I got from Randy, a fellow brother in the Lord.  Randy ended up sharing the EveryStudent article that I shared to his Twitter followers as well.

  1. I can’t get past the fact that an intelligent writer talking about a very important subject says “HAD WENT” In his article!!!!!???? I couldn’t even finish the article. You blew off all credibility at that point. Wow.

    1. Hi Kate,

I use text-to-speech software for most of my writing. If you’re not familiar with what that is, I basically speak into a microphone and my computer writes it for me.

I do that because it’s saves me a lot of time. It’s the equivalent of writing almost 100 words per minute. As you can imagine, the text-to-speech software isn’t always 100% accurate. In fact, it’s about 95% to 99% accurate.

With that in mind, I always have to edit the resulting text. As you’ve guessed by now, every once in a while, a spelling or grammar mistake is missed.

I went ahead and I made the correction. Thank you for letting me know. I hope that you’ll come back and read the rest of the article. The salvation of souls is at stake.

      God bless you Kate 🙂

      1. Thank you for being graceful when I was not and I will definitely go back and read the rest. I take high school students on short term mission trips every spring break and I think they would love to hear some of these tips.

        1. Awww, thank you so much Kate for your kindness 🙂 I appreciate that you also pointed out that mistake to me. I wish I was better at catching grammar and spelling mistakes. I just don’t let it hinder me from writing.

So where are you going on your next missions trip with your students, if I may ask?
